Good Shepherd 4/1 Benefit, a magical event!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to Friday's benefit - Committee Members (Duane Ohland, Dawn Grebel, Shelley Storhoff, Tracy Rabata, Ruby Abel, Marianne Miller, Marlene Schlegel, Erin Broome), Volunteers (Magician Uncle Bruce Hetzler, Artist Jessica Stortz & Jackie Hein, Kim Steinberg, Pastor & Sherry Mau, Kathy Ohland, Lynn Gruenwald, Helen Kurtz, Louise Kurtz, Auctioneer Dan Ritger, 5th & 6th grade worker-bees, Tanya & Sophia Kircher, and members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church), Food Donators (Ben Murray Family, American National Bank, Piggly Wiggly, Recheks, Schwans, McDonalds, Shopko, Beaver Vending, Christine Winkelman, Melissa Gosse, Frito Lay, Pepsi), Pie Donators, Other Donators (Staples, Presto Plastics, Beaver Floral, Jim & Maxine Ferron, Todd & Tracy Ferron, Troy & Sue Ferron, Randy & Tracy Rabata, Barb Brandt, Artist Beth Luedke, Godmother Bev Shippee, SuperFan Judy Wagner, Gordon & Lucille Schultz, Ken & Dawn Grebel, Phillip & Dolores Oehlert, Dan & Becky Oehlert, Mike & Vickie Kaul, Stephanie Franklin/Wayland Academy, Gina Oemig/State Farm) and of course West Dodge County Chapter of Thrivent Financial ($5000 match) and Schwans Foods (20% of sales)  for their financial support and event coordination. 
Highlights of the night include:
-A sea of red with TMHTM shirts
-75 pie sign-ups but received 125 donated, including a 4 berry homemade pie from JV Boys Basketball Coach Panich
-TMHTM face paintings, along with many other talented designs
-Magic shows that had both children and adults laughing/impressed
-An envelope of good luck gold coins from an elderly gentleman who goes to church with us
-Autograph book signed by all who came - and under "how do you know Manny?" - newspaper, radio, church, pre-school, friends, family
-children worker bees who did an AWESOME job, of course they had an Awesome "boss" (no, not me)
-continual Schwans buyers all day long despite the rainy cold weather
-Manny playing with best buddies Carson, William, Wilson, Emily and other pre-school buddies and showing off his Rocket face painting
-Presentation of cash/check from IAMAW Local Lodge 873
-Thank you Manny bookmarks made by the Storhoff family
-Niece Gabby eating her 3rd Dilly Bar
-Friend Pete attempting to help Abers with his Dilly Bar
-Church friends all helping during event and with clean-up afterwards, without being asked
-Dawn Grebel given time off from work at ANB to do any necessary set-up and prep work
-Friends laughing at/with me throughout and after the night (!) Humor truly is the best medicine.
-Manny picking out his favorite pie yesterday (but it got auctioned) made by his buddy Will's grandma - she then made another one for him today with home delivery service :)
-Manny's 92 year old greatgrandma having a blast
-4 pies purchased for a bachelor party later that night!!
This event on Friday raised $6300+$5000 Thrivent Match+>$600 Schwans so approximately $12,000!!!
