Dr Roberson 2:00pm, ear canal almost complete

Dr Roberson just completed the majority of the ear canal and Dr Lewin has started inserting the medpor implant into the ear. Dr Roberson said that his case was much more challenging than originally expected, most likely because of his syndromes. In fact, this was one of his most challenging cases as his internal ear canal structure was more complex. His "Stapes" (stirrup) ear bone doesn't vibrate (wiggle) as much as it should. His jaw bones were tucked under his ear bones. Despite all of this Dr Roberson thinks Manny will still have a successful outcome but only time and hearing tests will tell. I think we asked and reasked it a few times, but Dr Roberson did feel good about the outcome. Again, this just reassures me why were are here in California with the top dogs cause MannyMan isn't your average boy - he is MannyMan!

Dr Lewin's part (outer ear reconstruction) will take approximately 3 hrs. So, if you have nothing to do today and are checking the website  (Bev) - check back around 7pm your time/5pm here :) Dr Roberson will then go back and connect the ear canal to the outer ear and we should be done.
